JINGAU URGES GOVERNMENT TO RE-OPEN NATION BORDERS
A renowned business man Alhaji Hamisu Rabi`u Jingau has plead with the
government to re-open the nation borders, albeit temporarily with view
to import essential commodity and food items in the country. According
to him although the federal government under the leadership of
president Muhammadu Buhari is doing its best to eradicate poverty and
scarcity of food item among the people in the country. Stressing that
effort should be made to ensure people in the country are provided
with food at their door step.
Alhaji Hamisu who disclose this during an interview with pressmen in
Kano the state capital recently. Noted that it is only by relaxing the
border to allow the import of food items and essential commodity that
Nigerians will find a succor of the current food crises.
Alhaji Hamisu Rabi`u Jingau who is also the chairman Hamir Investment
limited said the situation has left many people questioning the wisdom
in shutting the border against food items import whereas Nigeria has
not been able to produce enough for local demand.
He explains that the gap between production and consumption of food
items are normally filled with import, no nation can achieve anything
near its full potential without providing food to the masses.
