IPOB Protesters: [Photo credit: Daily Post Nigeria] The police in Imo State on Wednesday arrested 67 persons, suspected to be members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and a native doctor, for alleged unlawful assembly. The state commissioner of police, Isaac Akinmoyede, stated this in Owerri, the state capital. Mr Akinmoyede said the people were arrested in Orji, Owerri North Local Government Area of the state on Sunday. He said they were on their way to see the native doctor to fortify them against bullet penetration when they were arrested. “It is believed that the group is planning an attack on security agencies with the aim of snatching weapons,” he added. Gunmen storm church in Bayelsa, kill 4, burn nearby houses

•Bayelsa State governor, Duoye Diri Unidentified gunmen have invaded a Pentecostal church in Azikoro village, Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, and killed four worshippers. The hoodlums, who stormed the Church at about 11 pm on Wednesday, also set a nearby house ablaze. Defence Headquarters reveal those behind Gov Zulum’s Attack

The Defence Headquarters, DHQ, has insisted that Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, was attacked by Boko Haram and not soldiers. John Enenche, the Coordinator, Defence Headquarters Media Operations made the statement in his response to Zulum’s claim that soldiers were behind the recent attack on his convoy. Recall that unknown gunmen had last week Wednesday attacked Zulum’s convoy in Baga, Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State. Zulum, while reacting to the attack had alleged sabotage from the military in the fight against insurgency.
