ATAGI URGED FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO RELAX NATION’S BORDERS

The Head of Service Atagi General Enterprises, Alhaji Usama Usman Yusuf has called on the Federal Government to re-open the nation’s borders with view to import basic commodities that are necessary for human development.

He said the continued closure of land border by Federal Government would have a negative effect on the citizens, even both here and neighboring countries and undermine country’s economy.

Yusuf who disclosed this in an interview with pressmen in Kano the State Capital recently, pointing out that refusal of government to encourage and open up the economy would hamper the progress of the country and consequently would affect the earning capacity of the people.

He said there are also many ways borders can be closed to check the smuggling goods into the country without total closure saying that Nigerian Government should take a cue from  developed countries with tight border control without total lockdown.

Yusuf plead with government to please open the nation border even if it is temporarily  so as to allow essential commodities import into the country adding that it is only by relaxing the border to allow the import of goods and basic commodities that Nigerians will find succor from the current economic hardship plaguing the nation.

Usman advised the Federal Government to revive our dormant industries to become more productive and chart a course for economic development.

He said Atagi is a company that deals mostly with textile materials in Kantin Kwari market and the company was established more than 20years ago with over 60 Nigerian youths working as a full staff.

He commended governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for his effort to take Kano to a desired Eldorado
